DBWI: Cubs will never be as good as their three-peat in the '90s

Sure, the Cubs beat the Dodgers this year - I wonder if Maddux will retire from them now? But, I don't think they can ever be as good as that team that won three straight World Series from 1998-2000. What do you all think? Hard to believe they were once dubbed "The Gilligan of Baseball" by a national magazine.
 
Personally the San Francisco Seals when they had Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, and Aoki Tsuyama were the best team until Bonds retirement in 2006. In terms of hitting, RBIs, and catching, you can't beat the 2002-2005 Seals. Sports Illustrated has written more about the team than the 1961 New York Yankees...
