DBWI Crusade succeeds

One of the more pathetic episodes in medieval European history was the attempt of a group of knights and petty nobles to conquer Jerusalem, after the Byzantines called for help after losing much of their territories to the Turks. Of course both the knights, and an similar earlier effort by peasants, were cut down by the Turks. What if they had actually captured Jerusalem?

were cut down by the Turks.
You´re mixing things, the crusaders fight both arabs and some turk not turks, the knights and little princes from europe tried to attack Palestine but failed pathetically because were tired, overstreched and hostile territory, that make them back into europe, cause a civil war in frace iirc and later on both Seljuk and fatimdads beat the byzantines....

How europe would substain that transmeditenean effort?

It could happen in different time personally
I think that the better PoD for that would be the second crusade.
I even think to make an AH about that (and currently i work in a map with a surviving crusader territories) in this time opponent was not unified, and the crusader states were pretty strong.
So if this time Alenior persuade Louis VII to help Antioch and attack Alep before took back Edessa to Nur ad-Din and not attack Damacus, Saladin will less powerful without Alep and Damascus, crusader states and Byzantium could profit of divsion of Arab, turkish tribe, .... to start annex some territories.
