[DBWI] Crack WI: Make a UMC analogue... if Europe colonized the Middle Continents!!!

Throw realism to the wind! Ignore those pesky details and facts and diseases! Play down the natural advantages of Asia! Explore your Euro-wank!

But most importantly, create an analogue to the Union of the Middle Continent if those pesky pale-skins had vassalized all of it, as opposed to Asia! No petty dystopia's, please, though you can wank the height of the last unified China if it makes you feel better.

But the whatever else you do, the UMC analogue should be similar to its reputation and rhetoric of OTL: a land of gold and wealth and opportunity, a place where the oppressed masses can travel beyond the yoke of the Old Continent and gain riches by their own hard work, the beacon of liberation, and where liberty and popular consent guide the ever-changing leadership.

Bonus points if you can provide an analogue to the collapse of unified China's early monopoly on the continents, provide a reasonable Eastern-seaboard oriented holdup to simulate the initial barriers of passing the Great American Desert from the Western direction of OTL, and, of course, the Eastern Rebellion of a century and a half ago.

Think you're up for the job?

You'd need the Asians to trade more with Europe, in order to pass on their superior ship-building skills. Of course, there are the problems involved in travelling around Africa, so this trade will have to be across land. I can't imagine the Muslims will be too happy to trade ship-building technology to the Europeans, so we'll have to push the Asian trade roads north, ending up in the Baltic Sea.

The Baltic nations, (Prussians, Finns, etc.), weren't Christian, which means they'd be more likely to adopt technology and modes of organisation from the Chinese. A thriving naval culture in the Baltic Sea could probably achieve a foothold in the Middle Continent.

It's dangerous to retcon Christian attitudes into the past too much. Apparently, Song-dynasty Christianity was not as backward and inward-looking as we tend to think. It was mostly a combination of orthodox Platonism being reasserted and the population pressure that overtaxed the administrative abilities of Europe that caused it to fall into its historic decline. I sometimes wonder, if the European powers had been able to periodically redistribute land, thus creating a vigorous peasant class without allowing landholding families to ossify into a hereditary ruling caste, could they have mirrored the achievements of the Middle Kingdom? Of course the Christian focus on the afterlife and the ridiculous propensity they have for internal division and dispute would get in the way, but to be fair, the Muslims and Buddhists have the same problem, and they adapted to modernity very well.

Got to get rid of Zheng He and his voyages to the 'Eastern World'. But the Real problem began earlier, with the Mongols devastating Europe all the way to the Seine.

The Problems is that the Chinese have two hundred years on Europe and the prescient Chinese Emperor understood that Europe could someday become a threat to China's existence. You'd need a dumber line of Chinese emperors and a Europe that wasn't run largely by Mongol Khanates.

Europe just couldn't stop fighting wars against itself while a larger and smarter China just expanded essentially at will. You'd need smarter people in Europe--such as that Prince Henry fellow who was disgraced for homosexuality--trying to grab a share before China, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia grab it.

Its pretty close to ASB--that's why Europeans have faced two centuries of various discrimination as the "pink peoples" inferior to the Golden Race. I imagine it could be reversed...

Considering how sharply the Chinese Empire fell from over-expansion, and considering it's state ever since the 1800s/late 1700s in Asia, I'm surprised that anyone would call the "prescient" Chinese emperor anything but a land-hungry fool. That even the Islanders* could unify and become serious players in the southern half of the Middle Continent should really be a telling tale of the Chinese Empire's leadership after the discovery of the New World.

Baltics? Isn't that just a mite far, considering the amount of coast and easy-blockadable water-routes they would have to bypass just to get to the north Atlantic, let alone to the Middle Continent? Surely it would be easier to butterfly changes into Western Europe, or do the whole "Roman Empire doesn't flee the west" cliche.
