DBWI: Country with a population of a billion or more?

Well, the Qing control everything north of the Huai river, giving them a large population base for the largest military on the planet, with over 7% of the population of the Qing Dynasty part of the Qing Imperial Army. Graanted, most of them are just conscripts with a uniform and a basic assault rifle, but still. Also, don't forget the fact the Qing often back right-wing pariah states like the National Republic of Australia, the State of Tawantinsuyu (OOC: Nationalist Peru with a Mobutu-esque Autheticite system going on) or the "Dominion" of Kenya (OOC: Something like Rhodesia or Apartheid South Africa IOTL).

But they claim that mandate of heaven was now bestowed upon citizens of republic of china.
Said Sun Yat Sen, Chiang Kai Shek, and others who practiced foreign, Western religion (Christianity, no offense), and systematically erase Confucianism and Taoism from their lands, while relegating Buddhists into second class citizens with no political advancements beyond town levels.

It was well known that in Republic of China, if you want to advance your career further, you must profess faith in Jesus and convert to Christianity (although to be fair they didn't differentiate between Catholics, Protestants, or anything that still confess Jesus is the Son of God).

The Japanese and Qing do claim the Republic are actually continuation of Taiping movement... but yeah, when we consider that the Boxer rebellion is all about erasing Christianity in China...

well, maybe Successful Boxer Rebellion then? so China end up without Western influence that is Christianity, and thus has more chances to become united?

So, your thoughts on the mega-rogue state which is North China? Also, moving on from China, what about India? Could we have seen a mega-Bharat encompassing the British Raj? Maybe weaken Dravidian, Bengali, Assamese, Hindustani, and Sikh nationalism?

Or maybe more unsuccessful taiping rebellion.
that also make sense. We all knew that Taiping Rebellion are technically defeated and broken, but the Christians sought refugees from Western countries and in 1900s has partial success with Xinhai Revolution that we end up in this mess.

And yeah, the US, British, German, Russian, and French weapons as well as missionaries "advisors" that practically support the Republic of China on their earliest days.

The joke about Republic of China being bastard lovechild of all, if not most Western Powers do has some tractions. United China would be grave threat to Western dominance... so...

Anyway, British giving Independence to the Rajahs are actually pretty much the nicest and well thought part of solving the Indian question. Basically returning Indian subcontinent to their earlier states while ensuring long lasting peace between them. While some said that the "Game of Thrones" existing with Indian Kings and Princes intermarrying their families to each others are bad... the same thing does already exist in Europe first... so...

Yep, even the "republican" states in the subcontinent are dominated by a few political families, mostly descended from the nationalist leaders there with a few billionaire families to add to the mix.

So, which state in the subcontinent do you think is the most powerful nowadays? I'd say the Republic of Bengal with it's thriving economh, stable government, and largely peaceful relations between Hindus and Muslims.

Korea, even though a wealthy country, isn't that powerful enough to unify all of china. But i wish that my country could help in taking it down.
Well, while historically Korea has been independent of the Qing, they does exist as Ming vassal state... and now Japanese Vassal state, with Joseon dynasty of Korean Kings now being formal Vassal under Emperor of Japan, and aside of the royal stuffs, Korean peninsulla is now treated as inseparable, core provinces of Japan, with Japanese citizenship being universal, with those of Korean descent having same rights and responsibilities to those of Japanese Isles, and also coastal Chinese descent.

Lets face it, Japan is THE SECOND BIGGEST NAVAL POWER after British Empire back in early 20th century, and right now with US ascending, still being the second biggest after US with British end up in the third place. It took US and British joint operation to "Salvage" Republic of China from being outright conquered by Japanese Empire, and the Qing Emperor Puyi does seriously considering kowtowing to Japanese Emperor Hirohito at 1934 peace conference (he didn't because last moment backup from Russia and Germany). If not because of European backups, once Japan gained fealty of either South or North China... the others will fall and probably Mongolia and Tibet will end up returning as well (French Vietnam is another story).

Now speaking of Korea... the very same kingdom who asked Japanese help in exchange of vassalage... instead trying to going solo and unite China? It does took a very specific series of events to establish Qing Dynasty IOTL, so while somewhat far fetched, it is definitely possible with prequisite of Korean army being modernized and become far stronger in 19th century.
