DBWI - Could the Cuban Missle War have been avoided?

I was mulling this over and would have posted earlier but the Breton Air Force have bombed Burscough and Preston in support of the Cornish rebels and our electricity here in Southport has been playing up all day. Either way, there is a solution; Britain incoporates her smaller colonies, including Jamaica, BVI, Barbados, etc and thus exerts power in the region. The Batista regime is toppled for someone who looks to London instead of Washington and the Cuban crisis is averted because Cuba is in the British camp instead of the Russian one.
I must go now as the Cornish situation is hotting up - it looks as if Prime Minister Rees-Mogg has shat instead of getting off the pot and called up the Army Reserve to deal with the rebels and now the Bretons might send troops instead of just an air raid roughly each month. Here's hoping for an eleventh-hour solution and peace in these isles.
