Anahuac is of course famed for being the only American country never being colonized by Europeans, not for lack of trying though.
Now I just found out about this guy named Hernan Cortez, apparently he went against his orders and tried to invade the Aztec empire of Anahuac. He obviously failed miserably, having no where near the numbers of the Aztecs and no supplies, as well as the skill of the Aztec warriors.
However the Aztec Empire was indeed in dire straits in the time of his invasion, european diseases was ravaging the country and there were talks of rebellion all over. Had Moctezuma not been the capable ruler he was, the Empire may well have fallen apart from rebellion, maybe Cortez would have succeeded then?
How do you think this would have affected Anahuac, would it have become a spanish colony or would it have been to difficult for the spaniards to hold onto?
