DBWI: Conservatives win 2011 Canadian Federal election?

As we all know, the election of 2011 was a surprise victory for the NDP, who not only won their first ever government, but a majority at that. The Liberal Party won fewer seats then any other time in Canadian history, and the Conservatives became the leaders of the opposition. The Green Party won it's first seats, and the BQ ended up loosing all but a handful of seats. Jack Layton briefly became prime minister before his death, and the installation of Tom Mulcair. So, what if Stephen Harper was able to get re-elected? How would this change Canadian history?

Well the memory of Jack Layton would be different, that's for sure. Instead of being remembered as a popular PM who sadly died before being able to implement most of his policies, he'd probably be remembered as just another politician who died.
The question is if the Liberals and Tories still change leaders if Harper's government is reelected. I could see that if the Liberals preform well enough Ignatieff might stay on for another election instead of Bob Rae taking over the leadership like IOTL, while Harper would probably still step down some time before the next election since he would've been in office for quite a long while at that point anyway.

How would another Conservative government differ, policy wise, from the NDP run government of OTL?

Harper might have survived his party. The knifes were out on election night. The politicking for leader of the Cons started before the polls were closed in BC. How many hours did it take for Harper to come out and admit defeat? As well his rant that he did not think would have been recorded. Leaders need to remember that almost everybody now has a video camera on them and videos can be posted to the internet right away.

One good thing has been that Robo-call scandal is now in the courts, the next election should be much cleaner. The last poll sad that 73.2% of people though that attack ads just made the parties running sound like losers.

The NDP are not perfect and have lost a couple of seats in by-elections. Mostly to the Green Party, which is not that weird as they are placing themselves as the new right wing party with the environment as a main part of their platform.

For the Liberals, they are going through a major rebuild. Justin is their new leader and he is acting smart as the leader. He has been placing the best people that he can find to be his advisers. As well when he talks to people, they feel like he truly listens to them. It should be interesting to see their 2015 election platform. The days of one man running the party I think died in Canada in 2011. Mulcair is doing the same thing. It will be interesting to see who the Cons elect as their leader, there is right now as 3 way split in the party, the old school PCs, the Western Reformers and the right of centre group. For the last group I think a lot of them jumped ship to the Greens or back to the Liberals. It looks like Bay Street has dumped the Cons as useful in blocking the NDP.
