DBWI Communist Romania falls?

It seems that Petre Ignatencu is causing trouble in europe again by invading Moldova at the same that that Russia is occupying Crimea, It's like the 30s again and I don't know what to do

Anyway, I decided to create another Romranian PoD: What if the Romanian communist party had fallen during the bloody december when the army sided with Ceaușescu and openned fire against the protestors? How Romania would be today? And could this butterfly Putin's imperialistic adventures in eastern europe?

OOC: This TL thread have been created in TTL 2014, with a (nuclear armed) communist Romania invading Moldova at the same time that Russia invaded Crimea

OOC: this is implausible on a number of levels -

1. Even if Gen. Stanculescu sides with Ceausescu, lower level officers will take matters into their own hands after a few more days of rioting in Bucharest

2. Communism would have been gone in Romania, at the absolute latest, shortly after the Soviet collapse of 1992, regardless the level of oppression

3. Ignatencu is a nobody, with a mediocre sporting career being his best selling point. He wasn't even a Party member in '89, and had no career in the military or Securitate or anywhere else for that matter. No way does he rise to the top of the Party.

Most likely ASB succession IMO is

Nicolae Ceaușescu 1956 - 1994
dies of age related health issues and stress following economic collapse (age 75)

Nicu Ceaușescu 1994 - 1995 (son and heir apparent of Nicolae)
dies of cirrhosis from his heavy drinking one year early (age 44)

Marin Ceaușescu 1995 - 1996 (older brother and top army general of Nicolae)
dies of age related health issues (age 79)

Nicolae Andruță Ceaușescu 1996 - 2000 (younger brother and top Securitate general of Nicolae)
dies of age related health issues (age 76)

Ilie Ceaușescu 1996 - 2002 (youngest brother and top army general of Nicolae)
dies of pneumonia (age 76)

Zoia Ceaușescu 2002 - 2006 (ambitious daughter of Nicolae)
dies from health issues related to her heavy smoking (age 57)

Valentin Ceaușescu 2006 - present (eldest son of Nicolae)
This one is iffy, as he was never really interested in politics

The top echelons of the Party were so subservient at this point (by design mind you), that I don't really see them going against the presidential family.

If there was to be a coup against the Ceausescu family, it would be either in '95 (crappy economy, Nicu was not supposed to kick the bucket so early), '02 (a woman! gasp) or '06 (Valentin doesn't really seem to care).

OOC: Given that the Communist regimes of both Albania and Yugoslavia, who were on the opposite extremes of the Communist spectrum but who both were outside the Soviet bloc, collapsed in the 1990s, I don't see any Soviet bloc regimes surviving. Even Mongolia moved away from Communism. The surviving Communist states are all outside of Europe (all but Cuba in Asia) and are more nationalist than Communist.

Romania was practically debt free and Bush senior was getting nervous on the instability in the eastern Europe. Thats why Ceausescus govenrment was able to get large US$ loans quickly and "stuff the mouths of protesters with sausage".

If Nicolae refuses to back off and US is not in panic to stabilize the situation then all is lost.
(OOC: Bush actually said that US would not object if Soviet Union intervened in Romania. Gorba of course declined)
