DBWI: Communist east, Capitalist west

We all know that by the Marxist theory communist revolutions can happen only once the critical mass of the proletariat is achieved, thus the revolutions in the east are extremely unlikely. But in the aftermarth of the Great War, when Russia was quite unstable, they had huge socialist/communist movement that got dismantled before the revolutionaries of the 30's could support it.
What if the they hang on just enough time to get support for an active insurrection AND the capitalists win in the west?

Eventually Armageddon.

Remember the great rivalry between Western Europe and Eastern Europe that has been ongoing since the 1950s? It never got beyond competitiveness because Russia had become a democracy by then.

Now imagine Communism in the East, which would create an ideological conflict. Add nuclear energy being used in weapons (there's a reason why the town of Sellafield has an annual evacuation drill), many, many times over...brrr.
