DBWI: Civil War In Mysore!

Its been a long time coming.

At dawn today, Sultan Narasaraja IV of Mysore fell to the gun of an unknown assassain. Apparently the whole country just fell apart, and now there's shooting in the streets of Sirangapatna between Muslims, Hindus, and God knows who else trying to become regent gor his boy. The Marathas are apparently "very disturbed", but naturally haven't gotten their act together to do anything.

IMO, this was pretty much inevitable. If you are a large state with an absolute monarchy and countless religious and ethnic groups, you really shouldn't embark on a mass of aggressive expansionist wars on an almost-bankrupt treasury. But what do you guys think?

Taking on the British and the rest of the Imperial Commonwealth in northern India was a daft move. Yes, the Brits where distracted with all that sh*t in South America going down, but IIRC they never had less than 200k in country since the last war.

Tell me about it. As if all the other native states weren't enough, the RANDOM ASSAULT ON EUROPEAN POSTS really took the cake. I bet the Nizam of Haidarabad is really rubbing his hands together now...

Especially with all those Cally IIs and other assorted kit he got from Europe.

OOC: I was thinking of India looking like before the second Anglo-Mysore war actually...

OOC: Something like that; European penetration is at aboout 1780 levels, and spread throughout a couple of Powers. The assault on Bombay was an aatempted surprise naval attack to rally the people to "Reisist Imperialists" that failed miserably.

At least one thing is clear, neither the Nipponese nor the Mexicans will support him after that one.

OOC: Britain cut a deal with the continentals and managed to hold onto the 13 colonies, leading to a sort-of Cold war between them and a Mexico that still includes California.

OOC: I always love a good Mexiwank:)

IC: Definately-Juan has already cut ties "to prevent an injury from the current insurrection", and the Nipponese are in the process of doing the same.

Still, there's always Imperial China, but methinks no one will touch him, after all no one wants to annoy Bomber Command.
