DBWI Churchill didn't die in Africa?

You may recall the story of the daring aristocrat-soldier-journalist who enacted a thrilling escape from a Boer prison only to starve to death in Portuguese East Africa.
We all know what the world looks like now, but what would the world look like if this prospective politician had been able to pursue his career?

you mean the older brother to Field Marshal/Prime Minster John Strange Spencer-Churchill? I doubt he'd be so great as his Hero brother, and politics is surely out, his brother's support for those which speech issues was based on his Brother's stammer but maybe his dear brother being alive might change John Strange, maybe he doesn't have the drive he did in OTL, though he lived to be 100 and was active through out so I doubt anything can slow him down

He would likely have joined Sir Mosley's party, as is brother has

I think The Duke of London's Membership in the Conservative Party had more to do with his father Lord Randolph Churchill than the Wartime leadership of Sir Mosley and their civil/military parternship

OOC: Pre-Fascist Mosley was Labour, not Conservative. Of course, that might be part of the ATL, in which case never mind...

I'd have to concur with BA that there's no reason to think that there's no reason to expect this older Churchill to be a major figure. The most he could do politically is probably turn his popularity into a seat in Parliament, but he doesn't have the connections or charisma to do much more than just have a seat. After all, he won't have the war hero status of his younger brother, and if BA is right about him having a speech impediment, then any public speaking is out of the question. A politician who can't speak in public is never going to have much success in his career.

OCC: Mosley was a member of many parties over the years, from 1918 till 1922 he was a Conservative, than an Independent for 2 years, than Labour / Independent Labour Party till 1931, than New Party for a year, than BUF for 8 years, than Union Movement till 1973 and National Party of Europe till 1980

We wouldn't have lost a great war correspondent. I read some of this man's work a few years ago as part of some research - just thinking about how well his excellent prose style would have conveyed the encirclement and invasion of Constantinople in 1915 makes me sad. His love of travel would surely have seen him take part in the landings at Helles. A truly talented young man.

Yes, there's no reason to think that he would have made any difference.
As the common saying states "a single man cannot turn Gallipoli in a failure"

A single man in the right place can. Say if someone had attacked Gallipoli earlier in the war rather then attacking when the vast majority of the Ottoman army was already engaged in Egypt and the Caucasus. If you think about it, the Ottomans could have easily mounted a successful defence if they had enough men. Its a good job the British high commands plan of making the Ottomans think that Thrace was safe worked out.
