A recent expedition to the Roman overseas province of Serica has found more remnants of the civilization known as Zhongguo. According to joint Romano-Nihonian archaeologists, Zhongguo occupied much of Roman Serica more than a millenium ago, before succumbing to a series of nomadic incursions and the spread of diseases from the Far West brought upon by the Aztec Age of Imperialism. While the Imperium Romanum, the Nihon Teikoku, and the Malayan Kingdom repelled or pushed back the invaders after centuries of conflict, while Zhongguo collapsed utterly. This has led to the Mongols, the Tibetans, Malayans, Koreans, and Indians to capitalize on this power vacuum, before eventually losing to the Imperium and Abyssinia as they colonized large swathes of the area
What if Zhongguo never fell to the Aztec invaders, and successfully established itself as a major power?
