Okay, a quick challenge for baseball fans. We all know that the Northern League was integrated in 1937. This gave that league a competitive advantage over the whites-only Southern League for roughly 31 years before the Southern League finally integrated in 1968. This lead to the North dominating baseball and winning 26 of the 31 World Series in that era. The Southern League owners always blamed the delay on the Confederate government's segregationist policies, but I always thought that was a cop-out. They could have integrated earlier if they had chosen to. So my challenge to you: With a POD after the Second American Revolution (or the Southern Rebellion, as you Northerners still insist on calling it), figure out how to make the Southern League integrate at the same time or (this may be ASB) even earlier than the Northern League. Also, bonus points if you butterfly the Northern League's introduction of the Designated Hitter rule in the early 1962. I always thought that having more unity between the leagues (which simultaneous integration might generate) could stop the stupid DH-rule.
