So this idea came up when I was watching the latest 30 for 30 documentary "Wild Things" about that great Indians team from the mid-90s, the one that finally brought titles to Cleveland in those two dramatic Series against the Braves and that flash-in-the-pan Marlins team. We all remember Estevez's appearance in relief against the Marlins in Game 7 that year as well as his strong Game 6 performance against the Braves that pushed the Series to seven so the Tribe could come back from that 3-1 hole. People even created that Wild Thing picture with Estevez in the famous role of Wild Thing Vaughn, though I can't imagine anyone but Robert Downey Jr. playing Wild Thing.

Anyway, Estevez comes from a family of actors. Supposedly he almost went that route instead of working his way through the baseball ranks. Would Cleveland still be waiting for a World Series title? Would Estevez have been a success as an actor? I know he credits baseball with keeping him from going down a "dark path," one he may have gone down in the world of film.
