Although the USA was only Communist for about twenty to thirty years (depending on which historian you ask), the echos of that time are still with us, today. But, suppose that the Communist Party hadn't gained control of the House of Representatives in 1934?
Would we still have been so quick to join the Allies in 1939, or would we have stayed isolationist?
If the latter, would we have stayed out of the whole war, or would one of the combatants have given us a casus belli, and against which side?
