DBWI: Cantonia didn't invade Hong Kong and Macau?

hk+m campaign.png

So we know that in 1996, Yin Yun, the president of the Cantonese Republic, invaded Hong Kong and Macau to incorporate the newly independent nations into Cantonia, against the wishes of his advisors. This resulted in a UN coalition assembling to oust them.

However, what if Yun had actually listened to his advisors and not green-lighted the invasion? How would Cantonia, Hong Kong and Macau be doing today?

Cantonia gets international aid from Afghanistan. When the country which still doesn't have television is in a position to lend you a hand, you know something has gone dreadfully wrong.

Also, are we really calling Cathay/Northern Qing and its clown car of client states a proper UN Coalition?

Well, the Northern Qing does have virtual control over Hong Kong and Macau, with permanent garrisons (and got the UNSC to rubber stamp it, so it technically is an UN action).
