DBWI: Bush Survives Georgia

What if President George Bush was not killed in Tsilbi on May 10th, 2005. How would the world go without Vice Presidency Cheney assuming office?

Would Hillary Clinton still be elected in 2008 with 380~ Electoral college votes? Cheney was a deeply unpopular president, especially with his handling of the Alabama riots. The highest his appproval ratings were after 2006 was just after his fatal heart attack in December 2008.

I wonder what would've happened to George Allen. Since he wouldn't be made Vice President in November of 2005, would he win re-election to the Senate in 2006, perhaps run for President in `08?

OOC: List of Presidents

43. George W Bush (Republican), 1/20/2001-5/10/2005 (VP: Richard Cheney)

44. Richard B Cheney (Republican), 5/10/2005-1/20/2009 (VP: George Allen)

45. Hillary Clinton (Democratic), 1/20/2009-present (VP: Bill Richardson)

Given his 2012 comeback Senate run was to the tune of double digits, it's basically guaranteed that he would've won in 2006. As far as Presidential aspirations, there was some talk of that prior to Bush's death, so it's entirely possible. Without Cheney in office, Allen would at least have a shot with the more effective Bush as his predecessor.

OOC: As bad as President Cheney is implied to have been, at least his OTL heart-attack in 2005 didn't prove fatal in this ATL because that would've meant a President Dennis Hastert.

I know this should be reserved for Chat, but what do you guys think about Governor Rubio's latest gaffe on the campaign trail?

Pretty darn embarrassing. Going to a salad bar and saying that "Richardson doesn't eat this"

idk, like, 3 weeks in and already Rubio called his opponent fat

OOC: It's Richard Bruce Cheney, not Robert Cheney, if you're going for full names

I think that senator Obama would of become president.
Nah. Too inexperienced in 2008. Even his selection as VP candidate this year is a slight punt for Democrats. But he is a popular liberal, he is reasonably young, and an African American VP is sure to encourage the black vote out.

OOC: I did mention that Cheney dies a month before he is due to leave office, but if people would prefer for him to survive, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
