DBWI: Beria is killed in 1953 coup.

On Friday, June 26, 1953, a Coup d'état was launched and led by Nikita Khrushchev and Marshal Georgy Zhukov in an attempt to depose Lavrentiy Beria as the First Deputy Premier of the Soviet Union and to prevent him becoming the de facto power behind First Secretary Nikita Khrushchev. In our world this failed but what if, in an alternate timeline, it had succeeded?

What kind of effect would this have had on the policies of the Soviets? Who would take power after? And what kind of effects would this have had on the world at large?

He did do those things, but his domestic oppression continued and doubled down on Stalin's domestic policies.
Not to mention all of his absolutly reprehensible individual actions which, although they may not have effected international policy, were still absolutly horrible.
I mean, just look at what he did to Khruschev and Zhukov, that was depraved and sickening even by his extremely low standards and is the texbook definition of a “Cruel and Unusual Death”.
