DBWI: Benito Juarez starts a second revolution

What if instead of accepting the position of prime minister what if Juarez decided to rebel again, would he win? What would happen to the Mexico would it still be the center of culture and technology it is today?

I don't know, the position of the Monarchists were pretty strong. He would probably just end up captured and shot. Especially when Maximilian turned out to be much more liberal than people thought and forced the French to leave. The Americans had no problem recognizing his government once it was clear he made a pretty fine ally in the south, and with Juarez began to implement things such as land reform.

Another thing to consider is how this may affect the world, if Napoleon III had to divert forces away from France to keep Maxy on the throne then he may have lost the Franco-Prussian war of 65'
