DBWI: Atari-Nintendo deal falls through

So, apparently, before the deal for Atari to release the Nintendo was finalized, it was almost jeopardized by a Coleco demonstration using Donkey Kong. However, Atari and Nintendo were able to hammer out a deal, and the Japanese Famicom was released as the Atari-Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986. If the deal was called off, how might this have affected video games?

You might have to prevent the cancellation of their computer lineup first; it was supposed to be really advanced, but it flopped pretty bad, and was dropped in the spring of 1984.....thus forcing them to partner up with Nintendo to keep them afloat. But then again, would we have had the Ultra-64, or Monster Rancher? :D
