DBWI: Anyone watch the Trial?

Just been watching The Trial the new teleplay on Mary Tudor and the plot to overthrow Edward VI.
It's very fun though I do wonder about the historical accuracy.
Did Edward Seymour really have affairs with both Princess Elisabeth and Queen Mary of Scotland?
Or is that based on his son ending up on the thrones of England and Scotland with the death of Queen Meg?

Oh and don't miss the delightful Connie Mystral as young Meg, played wonderfully Cassandra like :D

Regarding Edward Seymour we only know what his grandson wrote in the book: The Greatest Edward, and that book contains a grand number of exaggerations.

Ah yes The Greatest of Edwards, though I've yet to read it. I'm inclined to agree with modern historians that while attributed to the Duke of York the book was authored by Thomas Jones since it fits so well into his Histories (of these Isles)

I liked it; it wasn't perfectly historically accurate but that's not what they were going for as much as a meditation on what justice is. I especially liked the scene in Westminster Abbey where the Dean tells Mary the parable of the man kept at the entrance to the palace for many years.
