A middle-aged fellow in the garb of a civil servant contemplates his beer from further down the bar, his well worn service-jacket, a mark of his time in the armed forces, draped over the stool next to him. He's listened fairly intently as the conversation has unfolded, and is starting to feel like chiming in.
"Personally, I think Sean-Micheal would make a great Emperor. He's Washington's brother by marriage and his oldest just married one of Howard's younger nieces, which I think should give him about as good a claim as any. He's done a bang-up job making the best of a bad situation down in the Virginia Highlands, and he's almost got things turned around again by this point. I think he's just what we need in an Emperor to deal with the problems we've got today. Unfortunately, everyone knows he hasn't got a chance on account of his mother was an Irish-Catholic. You'd think we'd have moved past things like this, but I look around and I just can't say that we have. I think we'll lose a good Emperor for it, too...
