DBWI: An Jung-geun kills Prime Minister Itō Hirobumi

Now, we know that in 1909, a mad Korean by the name of An Jung-geun try to kill the Japanese Prime Minister, Itō Hirobumi, but fail when his pistol jammed.

Now, what if the pistol had work and Itō Hirobumi gets kill?

Without Prince Ito, Korea might have been directly annexed. As it was...the Protectorate wasn't great, but Korea remained independence. And the war with the Russians between 1939 and 1944 helped being theorem countries into a more equal alliance, even if some Koreans were upset that Japan took more Siberian land than they did.

Land that's now been flooded with Japanese and Korean settlers...

OOC the envisioned system was more similar to the small kingdoms within the German Empire OTL than anything, so a protectorate is not likely.
