DBWI: American colonies in South America might rebel?

There are rumours that the South American colonies of the Empire of America might rebel, more specifically in the Venezuela colony. Do you think that is a real possibility? Because I have a friend who lives near the Caracas Settlement, and I'm afraid for his safety if a rebellion occurs down there.

Thought who would be stupid enough to challenge the greatest superpower ever; the Empire which spans the whole of North America as it's mainland, has freed most of the rest of america from it's years of chaos in the 19th Century by colonizing her, and also has colonies in the pacific (as far as Philipines and that tiny island near China) and the atlantic (Greenland and Iceland).

Plus, the colonies should be thankful, since the Empire was the nation which introduced the modern colonizing. Spending to improve the infrastructure of the colonies, beyond what they could ever achieve as independant nation states. It's both good for us and for them.

I hope we reach the 1970s with the peace that the Empire has created.

All hail America!

Ugh, we have a damn nationalist here:rolleyes:

How bout this, how would you feel if the Brits just came back and colonised you? I'm betting you wouldn't like it. Now replace "you" with Venezuela and the Brits with the Empire. Now, I'm guessing you're gonna ignore what I said with a stupid comment on how that's "different" or something else more idiotic, but at least I tried.

Anyway, where in the hell did you get the idea that the American Empire was the strongest in the world? Last time I checked, you had the lowest GDP per capita of the developed countries of the world. All you're doing is exploiting the poor colonists for your own monetary gain.

It's only the lowest per capita if you include all of the colonials. Restrict it to north of the Canal and it's up in the top ten, and the GDP per capita down south has been rising, though admittedly not as fast as everyone would like.

I wouldn't be too worried about any revolt. They're a fairly natural event when the local economy rises enough to bring people out of subsistence but hasn't risen high enough to satisfy all their hopes. They also don't last long, insurgents can't afford to protect themselves against air and artillery delivered sarin.

As a Progressive, and a card-carrying member of the IWWW (Industrial Workers of the Worldwide Web), I believe that the American dreams of imperialism are doomed to failure if they continue their policy of imposing their vision of "American culture" on the people in the conquered territories. The "Cristeros" rebellion has continued since 1926, despite the imposition of martial law, due to the call to eliminate Roman Catholicism for many Chicanos. The "Huk" rebellion that has taken place since 1942 in the Philippines will continue if hte American government continues to try to eliminate the native Roman Catholic and Muslim religious culture that has existed since the 16th Century....

YANQUI GO HOME!!!
