DBWI: Amazons never existed

Gone Fishin'
As we all know there was a kingdom in Sarmatia called the Amazon kingdom. It was a militaristic kingdom ruled by women and it became a fairly major power. Most roles done by men around the rest of the world were done by women in the Amazon kingdom. Most baby boys were victims of neonaticide, but some had to be kept for breeding.

So, what if the Amazon kingdom never existed? How much longer would it take for Sarmatia to become civilized? Sarmatia was gender equal before the Amazons. This allowed women to take over. Sarmatia might have still become female dominated, but it could remain equal or become male dominated over time.

Honestly I don't think it would have made that big a difference. They were a minor regional power at best and the idea that the Amazons had a big impact on history is really a Victorian romantic notion. In reality the Amazons never directly controlled more than one city-state and outside of the Samatarian culture the impact of their was very limited, especially after the Grecco-Amazonian War.
