So the other day , I read this book by Ronald Paul titled USA (What if the British lost the American Revolutionary War?)
In this book, the patriot rebels hang Sir Benedict Arnold for treason and led by General George Washington, win their independence from the British in 1781. The 13 colonies then adopt the Articles of Confederation which is replaced in 1788 by a constitution that outlines the rights of the people and creates a separation of powers between the executive, legislative and judicial branches.
Executive power is granted to the President who functions as head of state and government! He can veto legislation passed by a Congress that consists of a House of Representatives and a Senate. If Congress can override his veto with two-thirds of the vote, the legislation becomes law. The President of the "United States" is not elected by popular vote but by members of an electoral college. In this story, George Washington was the hero of the revolutionary war and elected the first ever President of the United States.
In Paul's book, the members of the House of Representatives are elected by a popular vote while each state is represented by two Senators who are elected by the state (former colonial) legislatures.
The judicial branch is made up of Federal judges appointed by the President who must be approved by the Senate. The judicial branch also includes a "Supreme Court" which functions as the highest court in the land and whose decisions are final and cannot be appealed to a lower level court. And the majority of Supreme Court judges can rule that laws are unconstitutional (that is, declaring a law as null and void).
Not only that, but each of the 13 colonies in this fictitious novel also employ the same type of separation of powers but on a local level.
Paul also writes that the United States purchased Louisiana from the French and Florida from the Spaniards, and that slavery did not end until 1865 when there was a civil war in the United States.
I never read such rubbish in my life!
But then again, I am not surprised that Paul idolizes the terrorist George Washington. All loyal subjects of the British Empire should owe a debt to Benedict Arnold whose actions led to the capture and execution of Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Paul Revere and Patrick Henry. Alexander Hamilton was lucky to have only spent two years in gaol before he was deported back to Nevis. Arnold was the real patriot and deserving of the title of Viscount of Hartford (as well as becoming the first Governor-General of the North American Union)[3]. As for the Earl Cornwallis, he deserved to succeed Robert Peel as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
It is well known that Ronald Paul is a member of the Moronites [1] and was briefly a non-voting delegate from Peel Territory [2] to the North American Union Parliament. He is an economics professor at Salt Lake County Community College and an activist in the League for Liberty, which is a radical political party that advocates republicanism, a referendum on the monarchy, a 90 percent cut in the Imperial military budget, abolishing welfare and a return to using gold coin as currency. The League for Liberty has a majority in a handful of town councils in the territory but that is it.
I am proud that the sun has never set on the British Empire and the leaders it has produced. One person that stands out is Sir Enoch Powell, 3rd Baronet, who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1970 to 1987. After graduating from public school in 1985, I enlisted in the Royal American Navy and was assigned to the HMS King Edward when we were sent by Prime Minister Powell to put down that Marxist rebellion in the Virgin Islands. It didn't matter that its Premier was elected in a democratic election but he drew the line when he ordered the Interior Department to arrest the Governor-General and declared the islands a socialist republic. I only regret we could not capture the Premier alive and send him to London in chains and leg irons, but he was determined to fight His Majesty's Army to the death.
I just cannot imagine my North American Union being a sovereign nation independent of the British. It is so alien space bull.
The loyal subjects from Great Britain, Ireland, Hanover, Brittany, East Africa [4], North American Union, Bermuda, Jamaica, Guyana, Central America [5], New Zealand and Australia are grateful to live in our British Empire. We would not settle for less.
God save the King.
