DBWI: Alta and Media California

Oh man I really need your help guys. I've got a paper due tomorrow and the library's closed. I've got to write this report on the history of Alta and Media California. I know that they split from one state in 1965 because of a bill from some guy named Richard Dolwig. And I'm pretty sure those names are "Upper" and "Middle" california except in Spanish cause Baja California (which means like lower or something, right?) was already taken. And yeah I've heard the jokes that all our movies come from "Media California." But I could really use a list of their governors and senators since then, and maybe like a rundown on their history since. Wasn't there some water trouble a while back? Oh, I got this map of the two states and their counties, so maybe if I put that in the paper it'll take up some space and I won't have to write as much (here's hoping lol)

Well, as a Media California native I'm well versed in this subject. Here you go
Media California governor's: (Blue = Republican, Red = Dem)
Ronald Reagan 1965-1977 (President during 1981-1989, and was also an actor)
Evelle Younger 1977-1981
Tom Bradley 1981-1985 (First black Media California governor)
George Deukmejian 1985-1989
Pete Wilson 1989-1997

Gary Davis 1997-2003 (His term is weird because he got recalled in his second term)
Arnold Schwarzenegger 2003-2013 (Guvernator, need I say more?)
Meg Whitman 2013-2017 (former eBay CEO)
Antonio Villaraigosa 2017-Present (first Latino governor)

Fun fact: 2 presidents are from Media California: Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan
