After 1991, and the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia has become a very weak and unstable nation. Everything from the failures of the Chechen Wars, to the never ending depression, to the worst of leaders who can't seem to fix anything with the nation, Russia is the butt of jokes today.

Now, what can you fix Russia to be a strong and even powerful nation? And what affects would this have on Europe and the world?

Avoiding the Second Russian Civil War of 1993 would go a long way in allowing Russia to be a worthy successor to the Soviet Union. Especially avoid the nukes being fired off during said Second Russian Civil War--2 million more people will definitely help Russia's case.
