Well, now, this is the man who ojnce said "Football is War. on a more civilized scale."
But, yeah, better to try Pop Warner as President. I mean, Roosevelt only had a couple decades as a football coach before dying of malaria in Cuba as he tried to recruit players. Granted, he did push through a lot of measures to make it safer, and there was that famous incident where he threatened to throw a rival coach out the window when he was more concerned about winning than safety. (Roosevelt famously complained, "People are dying in this game, it is supposed to be more civilized than war!") Seems like he could have made a name for himself as a politician, and some say he was as good as Pop Warner, but while he made the College Football Hall of Fame after a few years, Warner was the guy they named the youth football league after. Roosevelt... yeah, he's got something, but I'd see Warner as more likely if he goes into politics.
