Studying the history of India, China, Japan, and South East Asian can't help but notice that before the spread of Islam, those regions actually have pretty advanced Polytheistic Religions like Vedaism (OTL Hinduism), Siddhartaism (OTL Buddhism), And also various pre-Islamic Chinese, Japanese, and Korean mythologies.
Sure, considering our world is practically divided by two monotheistic religions, with Christianity holds Europe, Africa, and the Americas, while Islam holds the entirety of Asia and Lemuria (OTL Australia), it was kind of hard imagining on how a non-monotheistic religion could still take hold in significant numbers at the current day.
But what if Islam spread the other way? Through Egypt and North Africa? Could the large "pagan" religions of Asia stayed relevant until today?
