What kind of PoD could create this? Maybe this is another Norman TL where William the Bastards wins Hastings, but I don't see it. any ideas?

If William didn't contract a sickness and die right after landing in Britain, he could pull it off. Harold Godwinson's army was not in the best of shape after defeating Haldrada at Stamford Bridge-the Normans might put up a better resistance.

That said, I think having all that territory is not impossible, but really implausible. The French aren't that weak, and I don't see why the Normans would be able to conquer all of the British Isles. Do you know what year that map is from in this AH?

I heard roughly a century after Hastings.

The southern part down in France - south of Anjou - looks like the Ramnulid duchy of Aquitaine. I suppose some sort of personal union between it and a Norman ruled England would make sense - though that leaves me wondering about Scotland. Wales and Ireland wouldn't be very hard to have at least temporally under their sway, but Scotland is a bit much to bite off while managing everything else.

Given Norman succession custom, I'm assuming this is the height of the "empire" - its almost inevitable that England and Aquitaine aren't going to stay under the same ruler if he has more than one son.
