DBWI: 1926 General Strike doesn't end in Socialist Revolution

Funnily enough, Michael Collins might have been more of a Leftist than we thought, maybe even a Marxist sympathizer.
You could try and bring it up with the developers if you want. They probably won't change it at this point, but then again previous updates have radically reworked different countries in the past, though I suspect that by now there are enough in-universe butterflies to justify keeping Collins as the semi-dictatorial (and potentially not so semi if certain events happen) nationalist strong-man of Ireland.

Not necessarily. Most Syndicalists, nowadays, tend to be anarcho. There were a lot more Marxist Syndicalists, but they've died off in favor of Soviet fuckery.

I can't claim to know much about Syndicalists nowadays but in the 1930s they were certainly by and large Marxist; POUM of Catalonian fame does stand for the Party of Marxist Unification after all. Plus no Soviet fuckery happens in Kaiserreich's timeline because the Bolos get crushed in the Russian Civil War.

Fairly sure it's Michael Collins leading the Irish Republic. Also the far-left are Syndicalist, not Communist.

I just want to take this moment to point out that it's terrific that a Canadian Monarchist and a British Syndicalist have wandered into the same Kaiserreich thread.

Here we go again with the tired "revolution not inevitable" argument, when are you revisionists going to realise that corbyn is just not popular enough with the general populace to be elected premier, it's not the 80s and the NEP is gone, lets jsut deal with it ok.

Ahh, I see.

My biggest deal with this particular DBWI is that whenever Communism comes into play, it's always hardcore totalitarianism on par with Stalin. It's dumb, boring, and it's why I hate Kim Newman's back in the USSA. So I really just wanted to set a background for it, that way we could avoid the usual "gulag" bullshit.
Protip: communism and democracy aren't necessarily incompatible, but they are rather hard to to put together.

Uhh, no. Not even close. Communism does not mean "lolsovietunion" and there hasn't been a Communist region in the world as of late, as it's inherently anti-state.

What we've had in the world are several degenerated workers states and a collection of small workers states that managed to do well enough before getting crushed.

If you want to debate this topic I'd suggest that you move it to another thread.
