OOC: I think he's wondering whether the comment is supposed to be inflammatory in-universe or not.
Ohhh, I
think I understand now. lol
Now that's very interesting. This is basically talking about how communism would be generally seen by people in that universe, that communism is seen as the greater evil and that it's defined by its role in the Second Great War and the Cold War, due to the impacts that those events would have on modern society in that universe and how communism would be at its height during those periods. Then communism never really resurfaced after that, making it hard for people to imagine a large power that can be communist and actually "work". Meanwhile, the fascists at least liberalized, both politically and economically.
You know how fascism is widely hated because of its role in World War 2? Basically like that but reversed.
I actually had an idea that communism would have the same or similar history behind it as in OTL, but much of that would be overshadowed by its role in the wars mentioned previously, and that those examples would be considered proof that it can't work in practice.
Technically I should have called this, "DBAHC: World War 2 against fascism instead of communism". I'm terrible with titles.
I want to note that I'm not trying to push an agenda here. I'm not a conservative nor am I a communist. Simply thought that this thread could make for an interesting conversation.
