King Charles XIII recently died heirless, and there is some talk of the creation of a republic (unthinkable, right!) in far-left circles in France. However, what if a republican France isn’t unthinkable, because France became a republic a long time ago? Some sources I’ve read indicate a period of drastic instability in the early decades of Louis XVI’s long and otherwise prosperous reign. The bare minimum of this challenge is to end the Bourbon dynasty with a POD after the American Revolution, because the 1780s seem to be the last possible time of instability in France until the present, but if you can create a republic that lasts even just a few years, that would be great
