DBAHC: A President who hasn't finished his term

What is odd about America is that all of the presidents finished out their term. No resignations, impeachments, deaths or assassinations have happened in all of its 242 year existence.

What are some politicians who could have become president and not finish their term?

Hm, well looking at the earliest examples of men who might of been elected president who died shortly thereafter - I suppose there’s William Crawford living just a little longer, then managing to get elected by the House in 1825; looking at the earliest party conventions, it seems William Henry Harrison, who it turned out wasn’t in the best health, stood a fair chance of being nominated by the Whigs in 1839.

Just make the term of office 4 or 6 years instead of 2 ; plenty of Presidents (Zachary Taylor, Rufus King, Nelson Rockefeller, etc.) died not that long after leaving office.

He was apparently their running mate though, and they lost.
