DB: Hispania is a hellhole #12345673682609

Ugh. This is terrible. I just read that so far today - and the day's not over yet! - sixteen separate acts of terror have been carried out in downtown Toledo today. Car bombings, roadside bombs, suicide bombing of every type, murders, you name it. 84 people have died and 56 are severly injured. The city government can barely keep things together.

It seems that Hispania is just a week away from civil war if the Coalition can't keep things together, because the Muslims for a Prosperous Spain are getting closer to leaving the coalition every day, effectively ruining it.

It's ridiculous, really - all the ethnic groups, the Lusitanians, the Galicians, the Asturians, the Catalans, Valencians, Aragonese, Castillians, Basques, the Muslims (and the emerging Muslim subgroups), all wanting their own homeland, each with the word "Greater" plastered to the front, even though tradtitionally there was no such thing as strictly defined areas for Christians, Muslims, and their subgroups.

Anyways, sometimes it actually seems that Hispania was better off under the rule of Jose Íñiguez. The ethnic groups didn't fight amongst themselves then.

Oh, and one more thing - this could be really bad in the future, but it's not likely to happen - certain radical groups are advocating for what seems to be linguocide, ethnocide, or even genocide.

What do you all think of the situation in Hispania?

Frankly, I'm not surprised it's come to this. Íñiguez mismanaged his country's ethnic problems six ways from Sunday. The real shock is that it took this long for things to blow up the way they did.

I think you're exaggerating things to an incredible, sensationalist extent. Most of the groups you have mentioned have indeed a strong national identity (obviously as a reaction to centralism and repression from the Iñiguecist era), but the Castillians or the Catalans having a fringe indepedence movement of violent lunatics is not going to flame a civil war or a genocide. Only the Asturians and the Muslims could have a chance for secession, and a very remote one. We are all shocked by the Toledo bombing and its magnitude, but I have to remember it's just the last one in 45 years of terrorist attacks, and probably aimed at ruining the Toledo applicancy for the next International Games. The country is not closer to breaking up than before.

My folks are vacationing in southern Hispania. They telephoned me the other day and said that militia from Prosperous Spain were engaged in some sort of firefight in civil-terrorists. Needless to say they are coming home in a few hours.
