Far too late. This actually happened when Elizabeth Tudor snuffed it. The throne of England was offered to the nearest contender (Jamie Saxt) as there was bad weather in the Channel. The daft bastard actually took it...
I maybe should have specified if possible a lasting union, possibly right up until 1900..
Can we have at least some conditions? I mean, everything between Roman sucessor state to Mongol Western Empire is litteraly possible with a POD limit of such.
As said, it would be interesting if it you'll give us some background and a POD limit that actually happen earlier than the OTL union.
OOC: Thats up to you, I was actually interested to see some radically different possibilities, and how it may have shaped the nation in later times.
I know I'm hardly what you call a fan of DBWI but surely if you're going to make one, the trick is to choose an unlikely or uncertain WI? Choosing such a statistically probable event like this just makes the comments here more ridiculous, no?
OOC: I'm not sure its statistically probable, there will be shifts in the balance of power but its through fairly unique circumstances that the Union of Crowns and Parliaments, and then of course the conquest of Ireland that allowed for a United Kingdom. And even then its not so easy to keep the union and hold on to Ireland against the will of many of its population, whilst fighting against the major european powers. Thats just my opinion anyway, feel free to share your ideas.
(Ummm, okay this is a DB, but what's AHC?)
