Daughter(s) of Richard III

Instead of just one sickly son, Richard III of England has one or more healthy daughers by Anne Neville. When Henry Tudor comes to the throne, would it make more sense for him to marry Richard's eldest daughter instead of Elizabeth of York?

I don't think so. Even if you thought that EoY was illegitimate, George's daughter Margaret still comes before RIII's daughter in the line of succession. EoY will also be more well known than RIII's daughter because she was raised as a royal princess from birth and was betrothed to the dauphine.

IMO RIII might be more relaxed if he has more children with Anne Neville (and perhaps less likely to try to get himself crowned). He'd be more likely to be able to hold onto Anne's inheritance if they had more than just the one sickly son.

The other option is for Richard to try to have EV married to his own daughter.

How was Richard III with the Pope? First cousins would need Papal Dispensation

That's a good question.

Btw Clarence and RIII were able to get dispensations to marry their first cousins once removed, Isabel and Anne Neville.

EV was nearing, but was not quite at the age when he could get consent for a marriage.

Ok, this got me thinking. Let's say that Anne Neville is a bit luckier and has three children with Richard III:

1- Edward Plantagenet, Prince of Wales (b.1473: d.1484)

2- Cecily Plantagenet, Princess of England (b.1478)

3- Anne Plantagenet, Princess of England (b.1483)

Well, what would be their fates? At Richard III's failure at Bosworth, they would be his heirs and at the same time threats to Henry VII, I can imagine that they would be married off to supporters, but whom? My idea is that the best bet could be:

1- Cecily Plantagenet m. Richard Grey, 3rd Earl of Kent

2- Anne Plantagenet m. Thomas Stanley, 2nd Earl of Derby

This leads to what parts they would play when it came down to the Tudor dynasty. My best bet is that they are treated in a similar fashion to the daughter of George Planatagenet, Duke of Clarence. They will be deprived of their inheritance and treated as normal, lower born nobility. I can see later into Henry VIII's reign that they may be tried for treason, much like the truly unfortunate Margaret Pole.

P.S- Mind if I use this idea for a mini-timeline thing?

If Richard still has children alive at the time of the Tudor invasion -- if that event even happens -- then that secured line of succession might gain him slightly more support. Enough to tip the balance at Bosworth-equivalent?
