D'Arcy Concession finds oil sooner

The D’Arcy Concession was initially unsuccessful at the first site it drilled at the end of 1902 and quickly needed backing from Burmah Oil to continue operations, eventually finding a gusher at Masji-i-Suleiman in 1908 just before the official letter arrived to cease drilling.

What changes would you expect if the concession had drilled at Masji-i-Suleiman from the start and finds the oil in 1903 or 1904?

Perhaps the Royal Navy would make a faster switch to petroleum, possibly even early as the second class of dreadnoughts and battlecruisers.

If they make a major discovery almost straight off the bat then it's likely that any extra funding can be raised either by selling shares or more likely via commercial borrowing from British banks. That means potentially not having to approach the Admiralty for a loan and the resulting involvement of Burmah Oil, also D'Arcy doesn't become anxious and sell his shares off to them instead becoming insanely wealthy. For the Shah it means an increased income provided that there's no jiggery-pokery, whether it's spent merely on personal luxuries or improving the power and administration of the state I couldn't say. It's likely to affect the creation of several large modern day oil companies as IIRC the Anglo-Persian Oil Company had interests in a number of them. As Delta Force says an earlier supply of solely British controlled oil could encourage the Admiralty to switch to oil fired boilers soon than in our timeline.

Does anyone know what the terrain around and grade of oil in the Masjed E Soleyman field compares to that around the Gachsaran, Marun and Aghajari fields.

All these are closer to the coast than the Masjed E Soleyman field so would need a shorter pipeline and are larger in size.

IIR, the grade of oil coming out of APOC's wells was not totally to Admiralty specs.
