Prologue
The Chicago Bears were a team to be feared in the 1980s. A defense still talked about to this day saw them win a Super Bowl in 1985. But since then, their success wasn’t repeated. They had good teams, but not teams like the 1985 one.
Enter the 2005 NFL Draft. One selection would change their luck and eventually they’d go back to the Bears of the 80s.
“With the Fourth Overall Pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select...Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback from University of California.”
The Bears picked up the scraps from the 49ers. Sure that Rodgers was going First Overall, their sure selection of a Running Back changed. They had a reliable Rex Grossman on their roster, but they felt Aaron Rodgers with enough grooming would be able to be something special.
Notes:
Another timeline. If you haven’t noticed from my random months long disappearances, 2018 has been kicking my ass. But I think everything has calmed down enough for me to be able to write again. Cut to Week One, laughing at the usual sight of Rodgers torturing the Bears, this idea was born. Wouldn’t it be funny if he ended up on them instead. So as usual, enjoy the teaser and more to follow soon.
