D.B.W. I The Kellog Briand Treaty Fails

What if the world had not been able to enjoy eighty two years of peace. If somehow some nation or nations had strayed from the agreement that ended war. Of course it seems absurd to me that the Great War by itself should not finally have shown the folly of war. Looking back at the Great War and the horrors of the gatling gun and poison gas it is frightening to think about how the technology could have produced even more frightening weapons. It also interesting to think about where a war might have happened. I read about a nasty border dispute between Bolivia and Paraguay in the 1930s. Thinks how about a war would have made that normally ignored region the focus of the otherwise peaceful world's attention.

I thought it failed when Hitler invaded Poland. The Kellogg-Briand Pact was like the Pope's Peace of God and Truce of God. Mere symbolism. Nothing more.

This is a double Blind What if where we pretend that something that didn"t happen actually did happen. Oh and I would say that Kellog Briand Treaty ended when Japan invaded Manchuria in 1931.
