D.B.W.I. President George W. Bush

The Neocons would have succeeded in taking over the government, which is a scary thought.

I don't think the Neocons would have worked well together with a born-again Christian. Actually, I'd say that Dubya as POTUS would have brought the likes of Jerry Falwell into a position likely to influence the government, which to me is an even scarier thought. So there probably would have been a "war on abortion" instead of Al Gore's "war on climate change".

OOC: I really don't see the Democrats getting a pass on 9-11, the dot.com bubble, Katrina, the Afghan war and Gore's own lack of charisma as well as a Republican party far more open to courting Latino's given there were moves in that direction OTL that died when the Neo-Cons dominated.

If Gore wins in 2000 he has a chance of winning in 2004 but once that series of disasters hits the Dems are done from 2008-2012. They would have had two decades in the white house half of which at war and in economic distress.

To be fair, Neocons and Theocons both back Israel.
However, in regards to McCain, I don't see him patching up with Bush.

If Bush had defeated Gore maybe we wouldn't be stuck with President Palin

After.the bubble burst in 2008;maybe McCain wouldnt have beat Hilary. Then McCain had to go off and die leaving us with the current mess

President Palin has done one really good thing.

People used to say that if women were in charge of this country there would be no war. They don't say that any more.

I'd say we'd be spared the unmitigated disasters of Gore's second term or Hilary's one term, but due to economics, I think serving as President 2005-2013 would have been a poison pill no matter the President. The show trials and awful handling of the economy by the gore and the horrific level of corruption under Hillary didn't help though.

On a less controversial topic though, without Puerto Rico becoming a state, would we be looking at Micronesian statehood like we are now? Merging Guam and the NMI was a good first step, but we'll have to see how the plecibites in Palau, the Marshall Islands and the FMI go first.

Haha oh yeh the US-mexico war, didn't you guys lose new mexico?

Ugh look it was admitedly a stupid idea to send in the marines to handle the cartels, but it was made worse by Palins micromanaging of that whole issue. Yes a marine group did get lost in mexico, yes it was because Palin gave a government contract to make the maps and electronics used in that operation to major republican donars.

Yes the equipment did fail and our troops ran out of gas and had to ask the local mexican government to bring us fuel...

But we didn't lose new mexico, and we were not at war with mexico.

Just the cartels, who we didn't beat.
