Oh, the vibe I was getting was that the US leads what would basically be the Nonaligned Movement in OTL, all the authoritarians, nationalists and anti colonialists who are also not communists.Probably. To be honest, it's been so long that I have to reread certain parts of the posts to get reacquainted with the story and my plans for the TL. The map I posted earlier isn't necessarily canon and anything that isn't written is not set in stone yet.
On the subject of the US in Africa, it's less that they're less hypocritical but that they used to (I feel that there's still some thinly veiled animosity there) oppose the Europeans who were perfectly content with using bloody dictators and they opposed Soviet communism so they naturally fell into the niche of supporting the democratic reformer types.
If anything though, the way that the US treated South America as her geopolitical 'backyard' and then supporting the less terrible option shows that the US is just hyper-Machiavellian. I only make one remark about it, but Chandler's foreign policy was strongly in the 'realist' school - so basically mirroring OTL's Russian foreign policy in its approach.
Anyway, I am still working on this, hence why it's in my sig. It's just going very slowly and I go from periods of having some interest to having none whatsoever. Anyway, a brief history of the Dixie Wars is in progress. After that is Release the Meese II, assuming I ever finish lol
I really like this, seems like a pretty interesting world, I always think how fun it’d be to do a mock UN set in TLs like this where it’s multipolar.
