I'm not an expert on Cuban politics pre-Castro, so I'd appreciate some potential PODs. Ideally it should be a POD between 1950 and 1958.
In any event, what would Cuba be like today, politically, socially, and economically? I imagine it would look quite a bit like Mexico and Brazil - democratic, and perhaps experiencing rapid economic growth, but with continued pockets of deep poverty and widespread income inequality. I can imagine crime and drug violence also being a major concern in parts of Havana, especially if most of Batista's presidency in the 1950s occurs as OTL.
But I'd be interested in reading others' opinions.
