CSA Timeline with President Nathen Bedford Forrestr

1864 Johnston is not replaced by Hood so Atlanta holds out until the election. Little Mac wins the election.

1865 Although Little Mac continues the war his meddling in army affairs and replacing Grant and Sherman with his own toadies allows the CSA to push back Union Forces
1866 With US victory no where in sight peace Democrats take over congress and refuse to further fund the war effort. US keeps TN, WV and everything 50 miles east and west of the Mississippi due to the fact that the US Army is sitting on them.
1867 Nathen Bedford Forrestt elected president with Joe Johnston as VP
CSA partially defaults on its bonds. All bonds rewritten to be due in 10 years at a 2% IR cut. Bondholders are told to take it or leave it.
1868 Inflation hits a new peak of 100% a month due to lack of loans. Poor Whites riot on the streets. Forrestt declares martial law and rams through a tax on cotton and tobbacco. Inflation rates starts dropping. Rich whites pick up some CSA bonds real cheap. They figure with some tax money they might get paid and with them paying 10% of the face value they have little to lose.
1869 Infation drops to 25% per month. Marxist sentiment rising among poor Whites as their wages are still not keeping up with inflation.
1870 Socialists take 15% of the new congress. A new party called the White Socialists take 25%. Democrats take 40% and Whigs 20%. The Democrats form a coalition with the White Socialists. Kirby Smithdom breaks from the Confederacy. It is not due to ideology but due to the fact that the Mississippi cuts Kirby Smithdom from the rest of the Confederacy.
1871 Congress passes a bill allowing congress to buy slaves on the open market to form a "central pool" that can be used by the government.
1872 John Bell Hood elected president. The White Socialists take 5% from the Whigs increaasing their representation to 30%. The Socialists stay at 15% with Democrats at 40 and the Whigs at 15.
1873 Congress increases money to be used to provide "central pool". It also allows the government to rent out its slaves
1874 White Socialists and Socialists are now strong enough to form a coalition. They nationalize all plantations and factories and sieze all remaining slaves for the government. The Confederate Civil War breaks out.
1875-1880 The Confederate Civil War is won by the Fascistic White Socialists. Almost all farmwork and factory work is now done by slaves.

How do you think Kirby Smithdom evolve in this TL? Obviously Kirby Smith would continue control probably as "elected" president.

I really don't forsee a Fascist party arising in the South of the 1880s. Fascism is not a synonym for Dictatorship. Fascism, at its heart, is a political ideology which sees the Party as the true embodiment of the people's will. It is populist, revolutionary, anti-liberal, anti-communist and also anti-conservative, ideology.
You could well see a South American Presidential Dictatorship emerge in the CSA during that era, but a fascist one? I don't see it.

Its the closest thing I could think of. It wouldn't really fit any RL political movement because things would be so different. What I am thinking of is a racist, populist, socialist dictatorship with some of the trappings of a democracy.

Surely, surely, Forrest is going to shoot half the Confederate Congress before the war even reaches its second year. Say what you will about Davis but he put up with their uncooperative, self-indulgent arguments for the better part of four years, Forrest would never have that kind of patience.

Quite likely and he would get away with it to. He would have declared martial law by then.
