CSA taking territory from USA?

The CS might desire Kentucky, Misouri, Maryland, New Mexico/Arizona, Oklahoma, and possibly Kansas...getting them all, however, is damneer ASB even with European intervention. At most I could see Kentucky and New Mexico/Arizona and perhaps Oklahoma ("just a bunch of damned Indians anyway, right?"). Maryland maybe in a total wanked victory scenario, but that'd probably be a negotiation-ender if brought up unless de facto occupied already.

Virginia might want West Virginia back, but probably won't be willing to extend a bitter destructive war for it.

They attempted to invade New Mexico, California, Colorado, Missouri, and Kentucky in OTL. Plus they tried to persuade much of northern Mexico to joing them.

They did not invade Colorodo or California.. where on earth did you get that? Just look at a map to see why marching an army from the South to either of those places is not practical. The Confederate New Mexico campign overextended that brigade horribly.

So? There was also a Cordon (Indiana) campaign, but that doesn't mean that the Confederacy was seriously attempting to conquer Indiana.

There were actually a few minor battles in California. Not a real invasion like you see over in the east, but there were skirmishes there. That doesn't mean much (hell, there were navy skirmishes up near Alaska, and this was when Alaska was still Russian!), but it happened.

Anyway, remember how much the US could've stomped the CS historically. If it ever got to the point where the US got too exhausted to keep fighting, there's no way in hell they'd give up territory. A Confederate win, barring British support, is going to be at best just after tiring out the North.

As I said, they attempted to. That's the reason they Confederates were in New Mexico in the first place. They wanted the mines of Colorado and California and the ports of the latter.

It's mentioned in:
Blood and Treasure: The Confederate Empire in the Southwest.

Distant Bugles, Distant Drums: The Union Response to the Confederate Invasion of New Mexico.

The Confederacy tried to set up puppet governments in Missouri, Kentucky, and New Mexico. They didn't in Indiana.
