CS Marine Corps

Could the CSMC have been involved in any Confederate military adventures in the Caribbean/Central America?

More than likely the South would have one. Popular? Not even sure about our own Marine Corps being popular, but elite, yes every military is going to have it's elite units.

As our own military was often enough involved in various episodes in Central America, it seems logical so would the South's Marines, as that would fall into their sphere of influence.

There already existed a Confederate States Marine Corps during the ACW. How their history would have turned out depends very greatly on how the history of the C.S.A. turned out, whether isolationist, interventionist, and or expansionist, though you hardly need the obvious explained here.

I dont think so, i mean even in rl the rl US marines arnt considered elite.
They're not bloody Delta Force, but they're probably of a higher standard than the Regular Army. The physical challenges are certainly more demanding, if I recall the statistics correctly. And don't ever tell a Marine they're not better than Army. It won't end well, trust me. And especially don't mention it to anyone who even might have been Force Recon.

They have a history of being elite. Today there's no real difference between Army infantry and Marine infantry.

That said, the USMC gained much of its identity as an intervention force in Latin America during the American imperial period. If the CSA was formed, the USMC would have very different raison d'être.
