Well, cdon haven't even posted my copy i pre-ordered in December yet, and checking their site they still have release date: unknown on CK II. Rrraaaage!

Cheer up, not worth graying hairs over.

I got a date tomorrow... from a stranger on a dating website :p Plus the extra V-day pressure thrown in obviously. I reserve the right to change my mind afterwards, but right now, I'd much rather stay home all day and play CK2 in my PJs. This dating shit is more stress than it's generally worth.
Geez is having a date really something to complain about?

I cant wait to get home and play this game. :(

Got the game through pre-order, some comments:

-Some areas get swallowed impossibly quickly, mainly due to the easy casus bellis of swallowing entire duchies. For example, in my Jerusalem game, Mauretania had swallowed up all of old al-andalus.

- Holy orders are incredible hacks. Use them.

- The dynamic that chooses which nation provinces that are isolated turn to is pretty silly. I had turbessel turn to Georgia, for example.

-There's some texture glitches.

Otherwise, so far a ridiculously fun(but complicated) game. Still figuring out the mechanics, but overall, awesome.

Does the game take a long time to load for anyone else? I own other paradox games and there abnormally long on loading, eu3 takes around 10mins same with Rome, but ck2 takes almost 20minutes!

I went through the tutorials and now I have no idea who I ought to start a first game with. I never played CK1, so I've no experience with this stuff at all. Recommendations?

I'm playing Scotland right now, and having an okay time of it, but I remember just how much fucking fun I had with Matilda of Toscana back in the demo. Nothing like having the inheritance system against you from day one to sort things out.

If someone would be interested by a Medieval Occitania modification, with

-Kingdom of Aquitaine as "de jure"
-Duchy of Aquitaine renamed as Guiana
-Names of occitan regions/counties/duchy written in occitan
-A correct classification of settlements as city/castles/temples

It would be ready soon. One week maybe. I'm just searching for someone able to draw CoA on soldiers armor or a tutorial to do it easily.

Matilda of Toscana. You start with a strong Duchy, have muslims nearby to fight and are under the protection of the Empire. Just make sure to do a matrilinial marriage or you'll lose the game.

I just had a great game today. Made a custom anglo-saxon dynasty with no provinces at all, and three generations later I'm leading half the Dukes in the realm in a massive rebellion against the King of England (the grandson of Harold Godwinson) to become King of England myself. I used most of my money hiring mercenaries and the realm is a disaster now, though.

Well, alll these good reviews convinced me to splurge and get the game. I decided for my first game to play the old standby Lombardia and the d'Este dynasty.

Well, naturally, I started things off by betrothing young Ugo d'Este to Mathilda of Toscana. This being largely my 'get to know things' game, I'll admit not much happened for the rest of Azzo d'Este's reign. Except that Fulco tried to assassinate his brother, and got caught. Which is how I discovered that if you execute family, you get the 'Kinslayer' trait. Which is nice to know.

So, Azzo died, and Ugo took his place. By this time, Mathilda had died, and their son, Cataldo was the Duke of Toscana. My plan to unite Italy under my rule was proceeding apace. And then Cataldo turned sixteen and wound up speeding it up by declaring war on his father. Said war ended rather quickly when Ugo took an incapacitating blow to the head and died a few months later.

I like to think I'm getting a better grasp of things, mind you. Because Cataldo is now King of Italy.

I've been trying to resist the urge to buy this game, but it is getting stronger.

Why, thesis, why can't you be already done?

Ended up choosing to play as the Duchy of Gwynedd. Just ordered the assassination of my wife and married a 16-year-old genius cortesean with pretty much no negative traits. Am I doing it right?

Speaking of negative traits my king has 4 out of 7 deadly sins.

I guess being sent to serve the Knights Templar, becoming King of Jerusalem at age 10, having all your guardians (including your father/the old king) and regents die, and facing constant jihads rampaging across your nation will do that to you.

Sorry to put it again but i need some help for modding :

-How can i add counties to the game? I've two of them to add, the files are ready but i don't know how to create it.

-How can i modify coa on warriors?

This I believe was the state of things soon before the invasion of Byzantium. Notice I own the holy land. Technically, I'm an HRE vassal still at this point. (Had voluntarily joined them early on) Another thing that was especially nice is that gaining an Emperor-level title frees you from vassalship to the HRE, and since the latter had managed High Crown Authority, that was a much welcome thing. Much less of a hassle than doing an Invasion of the HRE, which is, by the way, entirely possible... even if you're still an HRE vassal!!

I just noticed this but I gotta ask, how the hell did Berry manage to take over half of France!!!

I find it funny how disconnected territories of a large state has the the name repeated on the map multiple times. Its like delinquents decided to deface the map or something. :p
