Could the West have done a deal with Stalin in 1939

It was revealed a month ago that Stalin offered the West a Anti-Nazi alliance and offered 1 Million men on the Polish border or something along those lines. We rejected and 2 weeks later a deal was done with the Germans.

This seems difficult to understand to me. First, I assume you mean Hitler, not Stalin. But apart from that, if there's a war pitting Czechoslovakia, France, Britain and the USSR against Germany, with possibly Romania getting involved, and Germany obviously trying to recruit Hungary, I don't know how "after Poland" will come up.

I meant that anything post-Munich is nigh impossible; the Allies have made it clear to Stalni they aren't as willing to fight.

I do not know about this being revealed about a month ago, but Litvinov was travelling all over Europe essentially backing the French position on collective security which would entail the availability of the Red Army to any such alliance.

Yes, in OTL. I thought we were talking about an ATL where the French, British, Czechoslovakians and Soviets tell Hitler, we dare you.
