Could the Suez Canal Crisis have ended differently

In OTL the Suez Canal Crisis in an unambiguous victory for Nasser while Britain and France were humiliated and the US lost ground to the USSR in the Middle East. How could it have ended differently?

If the UK and France had their way, Nasser would be overthrown yet the whole country of Egypt would become a mid-20th century expy of the Iraq War with the European powers in a constant battle with insurgent of various stripes, especially Islamist ones; that or one more comparable to the Malay emergency with the European powers triumphing and their world influence intact and untainted by the OTL failure of the crisis.

I don't think it would work out that way.

Islamists took over only after the Arab Nationalists had been totally discredited by many failures

1956 is too early for that
